Duration: Preliminary Round - up to 10 min, Final Round - up to 15 min

Preliminary Round Repertoire:

  • 1 Etude (any composer)

  •  1 self-selected solo piece

Final Round Repertoire:

  • 1 Etude (from the works of Chopin, Liszt, Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Scriabin, Stravinsky, or Ligeti)

  • ​1 fast movement from a classical sonata (self-selected)

  • 1 self-selected solo piece (style and genre are not restricted)

Open Group B:

Age: Born on or after August 1, 2007

Duration: Preliminary Round - up to 8 min, Final Round - up to 12 min

Preliminary Round Repertoire:

  • 1 Etude (any composer)

  •  1 self-selected solo piece

Final Round Repertoire:

  • 1 Etude (from the works of Chopin, Liszt, Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Scriabin, Stravinsky, or Ligeti)

  • ​1 prescribed solo piece, selected from the following: Schubert Impromptu, Mendelssohn Lieder ohne Worte, Grieg Lyric Pieces, Tchaikovsky The Seasons, Rachmaninoff

  • 2 self-selected solo piece (in different styles)

Preliminary Round Repertoire:

  • 1 piece from Bach's "Little Preludes and Fugues" or a work of similar difficulty by a Baroque composer

  • 1 piece from Bach's Two and Three-Part Inventions or a work of similar difficulty by a Baroque Composer

Classical Period Works - $120 ------------

Classical Period Works Category:

Duration: Preliminary Round - Up to 3 min, Final Round - Up to 5 min.

Preliminary Round Repertoire:

  • 1 movement from a piano sonata or a standalone piece by Classical period composers, including but not  limited to Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Clementi, and others

Romantic Era Works - $130 ------------

Romantic Era Works Category:

Piano Etudes - ---------------------------------

Basic Piano Etudes - $120:

Preliminary Round Repertoire:

  • 2 pieces selected from piano technique exercise books of similar difficulty, such as Bayer's Piano Studies Op.100, Czerny's School of Velocity Op.599, or other equivalent materials (must be selected from the same book)

Beginner Piano Etudes - $120:

Preliminary Round Repertoire:

  • 1 piece selected from piano technique exercise books of similar difficulty, such as Czerny's Etudes Op.849, Op.718, as well as pieces from Heine, Lemoine, Duvernoy, and other equivalent materials

Intermediate Piano Etudes - $120:

Preliminary Round Repertoire:

  • 1 piece selected from piano technique exercise books of similar difficulty, such as Czerny's Etudes Op.299, Op.740, as well as works by Clement, Kramar, Luck, Berens, Moscheles, and other equivalent materials.

Advanced Piano Etudes - $130:

Preliminary Round Repertoire:

  • 1 etude selected from works by composers including but not limited to Moszkowski, Chopin, Liszt, Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Scriabin, Prokofiev, Stravinsky, Ligeti, and others

Sonatine - ----------------------------------------

Sonatine:

Preliminary Duration: Up to 5 min

Preliminary Round Repertoire:

  • 1 movement, either allegretto or fast, selected from any type of small sonata (including Mozart K.545 and Beethoven Op.49)

Piano Duets - $110/person ----------------

Parent & Child:

Eligibility: Participants must be direct family members, with no age limit.

Preliminary Duration: Up to 5 min

Preliminary Round Repertoire:

  • 1 piece in the form of a Piano Duet or instrumental ensemble

Children's:

Age: born on or after August 1, 2012 

Preliminary Duration: Up to 5 min

Preliminary Round Repertoire:

  • 1 piece in the form of a Piano Duet or instrumental ensemble

Junior's:

Age: born between August 1, 2006, and July 31, 2012
